East London based song writer, Rebecca Whitbread is Lovelace. She plays with a band of other talented musicians: Andy Bird on drums, Petter Grevellius on bass and, for bigger gigs, the glorious backing vocal trio, Hannah Murphy, Ruth Corey and Sean O'Gorman.

She joined the Rattle at the end of 2018 and since then, has been working on her new album. Nine songs down and some retracks, strings, brass and a good amount of mixing by the trusty, Hugh Fothergill, whom she met through the Rattle, the album is getting ready for release. Rebecca is currently completing an MA in Voice from Central School of Speech and Drama, which is the other string to her bow.

Lovelace released debut album, Lands, in 2016. The first single,‘Grizzly’ received support from BBC Radio 6, Radio X, BBC Devon, Amazing Radio & many notable blogs. It was lovingly produced and recorded by Andrea Adriano in South London.

The album details a period in Lovelace’s life, which took her through many contrasting landscapes, both in literal and metaphorical terms. From the endless vistas of the Nevada desert, to the minutiae of a night in a seedy hotel room in Oakland in the compromised arms of a great love. Straddling both the UK and America in order to follow her heart. From great friends to beautiful strangers and the fleeting moments that solo adventures afford. Some years ago she bought a ticket for Burning Man festival on a whim and boarded a plane without knowing anyone. It was this beginning where she really discovered her voice in music.
